Burger Cravin

19:40

Tuesday, July 22. 2008

Have you ever just craved a nice, big, juicy hamburger? Not the ones that the fast food joints have, although some are pretty good, but a home made burger.

I saw this and the title not only grabbed my attention but my craving for a burger! The name just sums it up--- Biggest Bestest Burger. It is not a hard recipe to pull together and will take little to no time at all to do this.

Now in the instructions it says to place in your broiler. Who wants to broil when you can fire up the old barbecue? I think this will taste absolutely yummy coming fresh off the grill! Since it is mid week this looks like what we will be having for dinner!

Biggest Bestest Burger

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
6 slices American cheese
6 onion rolls

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to broil.
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, salt, ground black pepper and basil; mix together well. Then add the bread crumbs, cheese and teriyaki sauce. Mix this together well and divide into 4 to 6 large, round balls.
3. Place the hamburger balls onto a broiler pan, evenly spaced. Press down on each ball, either with your palm or with a spatula, until a perfectly round patty is formed.
4. Broil for 8 minutes, turn each patty over, and broil for 8 minutes more. (Note: The outside of each patty should appear almost burnt.)
5. Turn off heat and place cheese slices on each patty. When cheese is melted, remove from oven and serve on onion rolls.

Paintball Guru's

18:31

Tuesday, July 22. 2008

One of the hottest past times here for all ages is paint ball. Each month there is an event where the different teams get together and play. No, they are not professionals but they certainly act like it. These are friends, family and neighbors that have all gotten together to play team sports with paint ball.

After each set they will share what they have recently purchased to add to their equipment and skills. I know that a few of the people, men and women alike have the Spyder Electra and absolutely love it.

Of course there are Tippmann's in use as well. Each carries these guns as a badge of honor. And when the two sides start boasting which gun is the best. Well, then it is on. The two sides go against one another to see which team, the Tippmann or the Spyder's are the best.

You have to remember that playing paintball is not all fun and games. It is very serious when you are out there trying to sabotages another team and their team mates. Each player must be properly geared or they can not play. Safety is one issue that is never, and I mean never over looked. Each player must wear paintball masks. No mask, no playing. There are always extras so if something happens to a players mask it can be replaced for the day.

My oldest son has purchased the Empire Digi Blue thermal Paintball Mask. Why? First he thought it was cool looking, second he liked the way that it was constructed and second he stood out above the crowd. He has the camo tactical vest to help him carry his equipment with. He likes the fact that he can clip his mask onto it so he doesn't have to carry it.

Along with all the clothing he has enough tanks, balls and other things that would make your head swim.

He has purchased items off the Ultimate Paintball site. After he compared prices he found he actually was saving money on the item he purchased.

So if you are looking for a site that carries everything and anything for paintball you have come to the right place!

What's In A Name?

18:26

Tuesday, July 22. 2008

My daughters both have blogs. I know who doesn't right??? haha Well, they were telling me about the name game that they played. Both were giggling like fools about what their names would be.

They told me that my name would be Paris. Of course they followed this up with a few nasty, crude remarks and giggled some more.

I had to go see what they were talking about so I went over to my youngest daughters site, Shainakins: Ramblings of a Lunatic to find the test.

Here was my result below and sure enough, it was Paris.

If You Were Slightly Different, Your Name Would Be:

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

17:08

Tuesday, July 22. 2008

The annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk is coming up and they are looking for team captains and volunteers to help kick off the walk getting people to participate.

Personally this is a cause that touches our family as Alzheimer's has touched my great grandmother, grandmother, two aunts and now a couple of cousins. Yes, we have the hereditary gene in our family. Each generation Alzheimer has hit a number of our family members. So this walk means a lot to not only myself to those other families that this devastatingly disease has taken its toll on.
