Our men and women that are serving our grand country are wishing for a special Christmas for their families. Most are asking for shoes, coats and toys for the children. As they are over seas they wish their families to have a great Christmas even while they are not there. Maybe due to special circumstances, as there were some that I read, or just the need to please, their stories are heart warming and may bring a tear to your eye.

Such was the case of the man with the family of 9 in Texas. Heart warming to say the least.

It is easy to donate. Simply place the dollar amount in and that is that. Sears sends out equal amounts of funds in the form of gift cards to all the families. When I checked the site they already have had over 525,000 donations. The families that will be helped are well over 30,000.

This is certainly a cause that is justified for the holiday season. With Sears being trusted and well known you are assured that the funds that you donate go exactly where they say it will.

Donate to the families that are in need for our fine and courageous service men and women. Making a special Christmas for them and their families!

Well, it is here. Thanksgiving preparation day.

Today I spend most of the day and evening doing all the prep work for tomorrow. I am also cooking that extra turkey.

I think that is one reason that I do not like T-Day. To much cooking. Although for two days the aroma in the house is wonderful.

I will take the lap top down stairs so I can work as well as cook. Only a half day for me

Since my youngest is 9 years old looking for toys is one of the funnest things that I get to shop for. I really do enjoy finding the toys that he has asked for to see his smiling face on Christmas. Of course with the marvel magic of it all it can be costly. As he gets older his tastes and expense has risen to the extreme. On his list this year were the normal toys of Star Wars, GI Joe, Naruto, and other action figures. If you have children or even grand children you know that these can be costly.

In my search for toys that he wants and toys that fit the pocket book I ventured over to Mega Brands to see what they had to offer. I found all kinds of different toys that he might like. From building sets to stationery and back again they had a wide selection.

I book marked a few of the ideas that I saw for this holiday shopping season. Since he loves to build things I found some perfect toys that will fit the bill for him.

I was really surprised this evening when I opened up my email and found a note from Polly over at Kloggers Random Ramblings.

She has given three different awards to a few blogs that I was pretty excited to be in the mix with! The one thing that I thought that Polly did this evening (other than the awards) was to have what she called a Mystery Tour of blogs. She placed links to various blogs without giving names that we could all go to. Of course they were all blogs that I visit regularly and enjoy reading. What a unique idea that was! I totally enjoyed it. And I dropped on everyone as well

I think this award is about the cutest I have seen in awhile! I love the Power Girls!


I think they are all cute and I am jazzed to have been chosen for them. Especially after a long day of work and shopping.

There are other items along with the camera that are sale as well. Some that are just to good to pass up if you know what I mean. You can purchase on line, which is completely safe or go to a Sears nearest you and make the purchases.

One way that you can see all the wonderful sale items and that is to visit their site. It took me a while to just go through the pages to see what was listed. I found more deals than I thought that I would to tell you the truth. The main one is the camera.

I can purchase a name brand camera at a store that I know and trust. Not bad for before Thanksgiving! One present down. A hundred to go!

It is funny. With the colder weather that we have been experiencing you would not think that Lady Bugs would be out.

Yet when my room begins to heat up they come out from no where. I mean it. All of a sudden I am hit in the head, hand or where ever by them.

What I never knew about these little things is that they actually make a buzzing noise. For some reason I always thought they were silent. Then again I have not ever been as close to them as I have been since we moved here.

They make this hissing noise that is really annoying. When they are near a lamp or something like that they land and start making the noise.

I think it is to let others know that they are being annoying and to come join the fun.

I always liked Lady Bugs till we moved here. Now they are just pests like anything else. They actually will swarm windows to the point that all you see is their little bodies. Really gross.

By now I think that we have all heard about the new Dragon software. I know personally I put it on my Christmas list as I think that it would save me so much time in the work that I do. Adding a discount to the already reasonable cost is something that is more appealing for my children to actually think about this purchase.

Today after the Hospice nurse left we decided that since T-Day is only a day or so away we should go pick up the prepared dinner order and the other things that we need.

We went to Meijers for the first time. Wow! What a great store. I was thrilled to see the fresh herbs that they had. I have not seen a store such as this since we left Sacramento so you can only imagine how excited it was being there!

With everything that we need for Wednesday and Thursday in hand we came home. Tonight was Karate night so the boys were off light the speed of light. No Karate the rest of the week Nick is so sad to hear that.

Tomorrow is the prep day so it will be nearly all day in the kitchen. Plus there will be an additional guest at dinner as well. Just found that out this evening. Oh well always room for one more at the table
