Thundersnow
Pandora @ 03:37
Thunderstorms are pretty normal here in the spring and summer. In fact we had one the other night. Ours seem to nearly always be at night. Waking you around 2AM or starting earlier to keep you up with the loud claps of thunder, shaking the house. We get pretty used to it I have to say. But every once in awhile there will be a storm that the noise is so loud it is scary.
A few days ago while I was reading the news about the latest of snow storms in the Mid West I came across something that I found interesting. The snow storms in one of the states had thunder and lightening. An occurrence that does not happen a lot and pretty rare. The correct name is called "Thundersnow".
Thundersnow actually acts as a buffer of the thunder. Normally thunder may be heard from many miles away while the thunder in a snow storm is head only a shorter distance, sounding muffled. It happens more in areas of the lake effect which is interesting.
What is even more interesting that it was recorded that last March here in Indiana we had such a storm. There was reported 110 lightening strikes, while the other areas were in white out conditions. I remember the big storm, but of course no thunder. Which would be normal.
Another rare occurrence is called Thundersleet storms. Where sleet of course is replaced from snow or rain. Same type of storm, just sleet.
Very interesting reading on the thundersnow. Something that does happen here but rare. More commonly found in certain states of the US, such as the Mid West and the Great Lakes area. Canada is another place that has these as well. They are world wide. Reported as far away as Japan having thundersnow.
These types of storms are mainly in the Fall and Spring, which we are in right now. One has to wonder about things like this. Something that is stated as a rare happening begins to happen at a higher rate. Makes you think how much our world is really changes around us.
While we sit back thinking about things that do not mean a lot, like diet supplements, what fashion is coming out next or where to go out and eat, we might look at the weather around us and think about the massive changes and how it is effecting us all.

Post Office Loosing Money
Pandora @ 06:19
In watching the news the other night they were going on about how the Post Office is in fact loosing money and the effects it would have on us the consumer.
It is only common sense to realize that with all the emails that people now send the PO would begin to feel the crunch. Let us compare the reason.
To mail a letter it is 42 cents compared to free to send through email. Hmm, free or fee? It is not rocket science here people. Do not forget they are raising the fee once again in the yearly rate hike.
So, the PO is saying how it will effect us. Rates will of course go up steadily (no brainer there) and deliveries may be impaired. Gee, does that mean that they will step up and say that the times of delivery, the times they state at the counter or telephone are in fact longer than what they state? Doubtful but one can hope. Packages and letters arrival times are already slow and misrepresented by the PO, so now they are telling us it might get worse? No way, Jose can that happen.
Closing branches, changing branch hours and a list of other solutions that are supposed to make individuals pour out to their local branches in support. Mail a letter, save your carrier. Oh BS!
Our branch closes at 4 PM, not to mention the nearly two hour break in mid day that they have. Closing at noon to re-open at 1:30. so what will change? Chances of the branch closing, maybe.
I don't know but I do not feel to sorry for them. I love my branch and the employees. They are like visiting distant friends while I am sending packages off. But if they close, they close.
Took the PO all these years to figure out that email is easier and quicker for people to stay in contact with one another. No rocket scientists there that is for sure.
The news bit that I watched seemed that they wanted us to feel guilty every time we sent an email and not a letter.
Will I feel guilty today? Not a chance.

What a Week
Pandora @ 05:26
This past week went from hot to warm to cold then back again. At least there will be no more 30 or weather for awhile. Counting blessings now.
This past week have been working on something besides my normal businesses. And boy what a difference it has been. My daughters do this type of work, which they have for a long while now and love it. Money for them is better than good and they make their own hours. I knew they worked hard, I am always complaining to BB about her over working. haha I am doing the same thing but with a different company. OH MY GOD! I did not realize how tiring this work was and is.
I am used to my businesses, Have them down pat so to speak. Creating new oils, herbal concoctions and things like that can be done in a snap for me. No real thinking. But this? You actually have to use your brain. Well, guys and gals my brain has been on partial vacation for many years now. AND it is now tired of thinking. Literally! While I am doing that I still am able to think about the industrial supplies that I have to order and fill my orders, so that part is good. It is the thinking that is getting to me. haha
I really admire my daughters more than I normally do for the way in which they work.

Is This Where The Deals Are?
Pandora @ 12:43
One thing is for certain everyone is out looking for deals and discounts for the things that they need. I know that I am always on the prowl for a good Sale.
Our family is one of those families that loves electrical gadgets. Big or small we are compelled to have something new in gadgetry. It seems that at least once a month or so someone sees something that they know they can not live without.
The newest addition to the list is Shay needs a new camera. Retard took his of course when he left so she is left without one. One of the first places that we looked at was Best Buy online. You can really get some good deals over there. And this is without those pesky coupons or rebates that you have to send in to get your money back. Luckily she found just the right one, at the right price I would like to add!
While you are over there looking for deals, stop by the section that has the funny TV ads. Some of them are really cute. I watched the one entitled Howie Visits His Son At Work. Howie makes me laugh at some of the things he says and does. You can watch this on Youtube and don't forget to vote and post a comment. I rarely post comments as we all know but this time I had to share my pleasure with this one. Great work Howie!
Whatever you are looking for Best Buy is where the deals are!
