Pandora's Casket

With the holidays here the first thing that a lot of people are thinking about and that is dieting. Going on a fad diet in order to loose weight so they can feast on all the goodies that will be baked for Yule.

Although a lot of people will eat sensibly and diet the proper way there are always those that stop eating or eat little and think that this is the way in which to maintain weight loss and remain healthy.

A couple of my friends has started to take apidexin diet pills in the past two or three months as an aide with loosing and maintaining weight loss. At least they are following the directions and actually doing very well on their diets.

The best solution is to eat those goodies in moderation, eat healthy and keep up with the exercise regime that you may have in order to diet in a healthy manner even during the holiday season

Since the sun is not at its warmest here a lot of the people end up going to the tanning salon in town. They end up with that healthy orange glow that looks terrible.

I laugh at people that walk around with that all over orange color thinking that they actually look great. I mean come on have you ever seen a natural tan that was orange??? No, I doubt that very much.

I hope that they have all used a good lotion while tanning and did some research on finding the best indoor tanning lotion reviews that is available. You want that tan to stay in tact and look good that is for sure.

But everyone likes something different that is what makes the world go around!

Ever notice that when you have a crowd of people for a holiday dinner the conversations go from one thing to another? Sometimes not making much sense while others are just hysterically funny?

Eating at our table you never know where the conversations will go or end up. You have the kids that begin talking about puking, pooping or other topics that should not even be thought of while eating but brings a slew of laughter from the others at the table. Then you have people that have to talk about their illnesses. Oh joy for that topic. Norm launched in about his legs. arms, and his extenze side effects from the meds. Personally I did not want to hear about any of it as I really do not care and have heard the same stories repeatedly.

Then after dinner it is either politics or religion that is discussed. One good thing there is really never any arguments so its a fine way to listen and laugh at some of the things that are being talked about. Of course this year the big topic was Palin. Yes, a lot of good jokes were going around there about that knuckle head. haha

I am really looking forward in the next family/friend dinner which is at Yule.

Now I realize that before purchasing something it is best to ask questions but sometimes customers ask the strangest questions.

I have a lot of oils, creams, bath salts and other items that are occult related as most know but the other day I received a question asking if I had any acne scar creams available. I sat and looked at that question scratching my head wondering why you would ask that seeing the inventory in the store? I have nothing that would come close to that at all, nor would I.

Right now I have had a slew of questions that some I hate to say I am not bothering with as they are unreasonable to answer.

I still love the people that write to tell me that the items that I sell will send be straight to Hades and no looking back. haha Keep those coming in as they are so entertaining but stop sending questions that do not relate to anything I have!

With winter coming up so quickly we are scampering around trying to finish the last minute outside winterizing. Once winter hits that will be it for doing anything big outside and the focus will return to the inside of the house.

The boys have been repairing the outside of the shed and the man hut to make sure that they will both withstand yet another winter. They were pondering if they should invest the time in the rv repairs that need to be done but decided that could wait till springtime. Nothing really big needed to do there so its OK.

They are focusing on splitting the mountain of wood in the back area counting the days till that is all completed. Hopefully they will be able to get that done or they will be out there knee deep in snow splitting wood!

So little time and so much left to do!!

We did get a slight brushing of snow on Thanksgiving but it did not come in until later in the evening. Today was just cold. The winds were terrible and you could just tell that there is more on the way without checking the weather forecast.

I love the first full snow when it completely covers the ground. It is always so very pretty to look out the windows and see how the yard and trees look covered in snow. The next few days is only going to be cold but no snow yet. Trev luckily has added a roadside assistance plan to his insurance since he hit the deer a couple of weeks ago. With the snow and ice not to mention those animals that come out at night you need something in case you get stuck out there on those country roads.

Hopefully the winds will die down by tomorrow and the wind chill will not be as bad. We can only hope!

This Thanksgiving went pretty good actually. One of the few that I actually enjoyed which is odd in its self.

Oh, there was the normal mishaps in cooking, like when making the bread for stuffing I caught the bread on fire by dropping on the burner of oven and while picking it up caught the oven mitt on fire. Good stuff there. haha That was one of the funniest things to happen but at the end of the day everyone had a good time.

Even Norm behaved and acted nearly human like so you know we were all thankful for that. Shay dropped her iphone(again) and luckily this time she actually has a iphone warranty to cover the part that was broken. She has dropped her phones more than Carter has pills!

The table this year looked really pretty. The plates matched the table cloth and everyone really enjoyed sitting down to a more fancy style dinner.

This weekend will be pack up the Thanksgiving deco's and start the Yule decorating!

Last week I started planning the holiday dinners & decorating schedule. No easy task for either but it appears to be muddling right along well.

Last night I finished up the mantle for Thanksgiving which is a first. I even have two table clothes for the holiday. One is an everyday table cloth with fun turkeys and foliage while the other is a linen tablecloth for the actual dinner. The table cloth actually matches my good dishes! Usually I do not decorate for Thanksgiving at all. Cooking is the decoration! This year was different I guess you could say.

I set up the Yule tree in the kitchen and started decorating in there as well. This coming weekend we will bring the Yule decorations down and start decorating.

I am looking forward in seeing my all time favorite christmas decoration when it is pulled out!

This year I am going to put my town out as well. Have not done that in a few years! How exciting is that?
