Pandora's Casket

The prom was moved to May so there is a little more time to make all the preparations and rentals.

Next week we have to go to the school in order to place the order for Colton's tux and other things that he needs. Can you imagine that the 'fake' handkerchief costs $8???? Imagine that. I was astounded at that cost. The packages are pretty reasonable and the convenience of being at the school is wonderful. Next year if he goes to the Senior Ball he will have special treatment in earlier times to get his tux as he will be on the football team. I guess being on the team has its perks. haha

One of his friends is going to try acne pills in order to help his break outs be more in control over the next month. That way the pictures as he stated, will look better.

So much to do yet! Prom count down begins April 1st

Today we had yet another spring snow storm. It didn't last very long but the flakes were HUGE! I went to the mail box and by the time I came back to the house I looked like Frosty the Snowman. Covered in flakes.

Of course it did not last long and all of it melted after an hour or so. Sadie though was freezing cold so she had to put on her comfy cozy red sweater. Which she really doesn't like any better than when she is around avo cigars cheap smells! The cigars are a good price I am told but she hates the smell! Making me laugh at her the way she reacts to the scent.

She is a real hottie in her sweater!

After nearly a week and a few days of complete and utter misery Rocky the Raccoon has finally been caught! I am so glad that he has been as it has been a living nightmare having this critter wandering around on the prowl!




As you can see the trap worked like a charm and Rocky was caught in the upstairs bathroom. I am guessing that the marshmallows and baby food was just to good for the critter to pass up!

Now Rocky can go back into the woods and not have to worry about humans or even a Medicare plan in case he was injured by being hit by flying boxes at him. haha

He is a cute animal and has been rather calm. Eating all the food that was in the trap.

I thought that we had experienced all the wildlife that comes with our area. We have had opossums, squirrels, bats, cats & assorted birds come into our home, basement or sunroom but this is something a tad bit different.

Sadie has been growling and barking in her 'I am going to kick your ass' voice for a week or so. I figured it was just Baby Boy(Morpheus) up to his old tricks of tormenting her. Usually though she just barks and calls it a day.

Last night I heard some rustling on the other side of my landing so I thought I would scare him away. Much to my surprise I saw nothing at all. Now it is dimly lit so I looked over the landing and there it was staring at me. A flippin raccoon! It was just staring at me and at first I was to stunned to do a thing.

I yelled and threw something at it and it disappeared. God only knows where though.

We got a coon cage from one of Trevor's friends and set it last night. I was stuck in my room with fear that it would lunge at me. haha

Nothing was caught this morning. Later in the morning while I was working I heard something so I thought I would check it out. Yep, sure enough the trap caught something.

Let her out and set it again. Hopefully it will catch the coon and not her again. Although she is kind of dumb. (I say that with much love)

All we need now is for a deer to walk in the front door. Think it wouldn't happen? Well, you have never been to our home

Yesterday it was chilly. No, I take that back it was down right cold. For some reason I could not warm up at all. And to top it off all I could do was sleep. Nicky is ill with a cold so I think that it is starting to kick in with me. Thank you Poo

Today it was a welcome relief to wake up and it was a wondrous 65 degrees in my room. What a difference 10 degrees is when you wake up! Today we have a whopping 55 degree day in store for us. Then the days warm up to the mid 60's. OK, we are going to drop to the mid to upper 40's next week but we will think about that later.

Right now it's savoring the warmth and enjoying the comfort that brings.

Maybe spring is just around the bend

Join Shibaten of Japan, Selena Fox of USA, and others around the world in a special healing ceremony for Japan 7-8 pm central daylight time tonight, Sunday, March 13 (9-10 am Tokyo Monday).

On Friday, Japan was hit by the largest earthquake in its history, followed by a tsunami which has destroyed two thirds of its eastern coast. Japan also now is in the midst of a nuclear emergency due to damages to several nuclear power plants.

Please focus on sending healing to Japan, to its inhabitants, and to all those impacted by these disasters.

Shibaten, who is in his native Japan and is OK, and Selena, who is in her forest home in Wisconsin, have been in frequent contact by email since the disasters, and will be working together in facilitating this rite.

Shibaten will be playing healing music on a didgeridoo & Selena will be playing the healing sounds of a singing bowl from Japan.

They will be joined by others from Canada, Ireland, and other countries in this ritual.

If you have one, work with a quartz crystal and a symbol of and/or from Japan to help focus your healing prayers.

Participants also are invited (not required) to work with the Elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit, and the Japanese Sun Goddess as Amaterasu Omikami in this rite.

We had a few days of warmth and now we are right back to the cold. It snowed again a little last night while we were out shopping. The wind was like ice and like a nut I had not dressed appropriately at all.

I am so looking forward in warmer weather and no more ice or snow. The warmer weather is right around the bend but everyone here is getting impatient for a little heat. AND no more snow & ice! I looked at the Southern Shores rentals the other day as they were on the vacation spot list that the boys and I made for the summer. We still have four other places to look at but this spot is certainly on the 'looking good to go' list! Vacation planning with the boys is super fun. haha

Sadie is the type of pooch that loves to play & play & play some more. But when she relaxes she does it with her favorite toy. The other day while I was working I glanced over at here and saw her staring at me just as you see her. I couldn't stop laughing at her as she is always & I mean always laying in strange or not so strange positions. This is one of her favorite ways though to sleep and is found sleeping like she is a queen. haha



She is going to love it when I get the cozy futon covers that I ordered for up here. Her and her baby, which is a lamb squeak toy, will be ever so comfy, cozy!
