Pandora's Casket

The three day weekend went pretty well. Of course after the big storm left we have been slammed with hot weather. I mean we are having weather that we normally do not have until August. So with that heat it left little to do but relax during the day and work at night. One thing though I did not have to worry about was home security higley at all. Everything was safe and sound there by the emails that I received. Having a good security company for your property and businesses can really take a lot off your mind. Especially over a holiday weekend when you may be away from both.

We actually did a lot of nothing here. We did watch a lot of Direct TV together. Watching programs that we have not sat down together in long time to do. That was rather nice. Of course with so many channels and programs to watch it was a fight off and on as to what to watch. haha
But it all worked out and we all were able to watch what we wanted to be fair

In a way I am glad that the holiday weekend is over and behind us. To much relaxing is more stressful than over working at times!

Now the next big weekend is the 4th of July!!

I had planned on working in the flower garden but with the recent storms there is no way that is happening at all.

With the other night being on thunder storm alert, flash flooding alert and also a tornado alert the weather is stuck in wet mode. This evening we have had a very loud thunder storm. Rain is just pouring down in buckets and it would not surprise me if we are without lights for a while later on.

Makes me mad as I finally found some great scrubs uniforms that I washed and personalized to use while I was working in the garden. Scrubs are great for outdoor work. They clean up so easily and the fun colors and prints just puts you in the mood to dig those gardens up!

I am really hoping that I can wear them sometime this week to get back into the garden. Plus I have to start on the other side as well! But there is plenty of time left to plant!

Friday was the kids last day of school. I am so happy but I know that they are a lot happier!

It was a busy, busy week with preparing for the end of school. Both boys had award ceremonies and each won awards so that was fun to go to. Nick won an award in a national writing competition for a history paper on Paul Revere . He had to be Revere and it was one of the ones chosen! It is going in some book for all the writings from the schools that were in the competitions. He won another from working in the bank all year as well and a couple others in academic areas

Colton's favorite award that he earned was the perfect attendance award. Which was ironic as the day of the award ceremony he was running a fever and sick. haha He was pretty sick but he went to school the last day. He had to as he had a final to take and to attend the ceremony! With his being sick he told me he thought maybe he should take a calcium supplement this summer. I said maybe Vitamin C would be better for him.

All and all the end of the year activities went smooth and now its time for NO schedules!!!!

I am sitting here looking at the filing that needs to be done. I have not filed for two weeks and it is over powering the cubby right now. One thing that I really hate doing is document scanning for things that I need to send out.

There are firms that will do this for a small fee but it is so much easier to just do it right here in my small office area. I have about ten documents that I need to scan and mail out this week. Plus there are three that I can actually scan and email! I love those customers and vendors that have the capabilities to accept these!

This weekend I am planning on tackling the filing. Then I can have empty boxes in order to start all over again! haha

I love the good weather. All the garage sales are starting up and even a few of the shows. Which means there are some great deals out there to add to my store front!

I love going to a Tradeshow booth and finding something that I know my customers will simply adore and have to have!

Each year I find so much stuff that lasts for a year or sometimes longer (If I do not put it in the store) that helps my inventory. I have so much stuff that I bought last year that I still have yet to take pictures of and put into the store. But this summer it is a goal of mine to do! Make room for more things to add!

Summer is a great time to find those deals that is for sure. Weekends are so much fun. Plus we have the town wide sales coming up also. WooHoo! Tons of fun!!

Here is just one of the many prom pictures that we took of Colton & Megan the evening of the prom. They looked so cute! One thing that I was unsure of was the color yellow for the tux and also the dress. I saw the dress in a picture that Megan sent Colt but it was hard to see what it really looked like. Seeing her in person in it was breath taking to say the least!

They were thinking about going to a mall to look for things like garmin golf items in their clothes but thankfully they changed their minds. Only teens would think about going to a mall all dressed up! They had a wonderful time at the prom and will surely have memories that will last a life time!

What a whirlwind of events that has taken place in the past week! Starting off with the prom and ending with our projects being started.

Colt & Megan looked like Prince Charming & Cinderella on Saturday. I will be posting pictures of the two of them in another posting but this is just an update of jumbled up news! The day went by very quickly and we were all over the place. But it ended happy and they looked stunning!

After that of course it was Mother's Day. A really wonderful day with all the kids home (off & on) and spending the day starting an out door project. Duncan & Jeremy helped with the new flower garden out front. Boy, Duncan was the best little helper while Jeremy ran around with his hat on being a nut! What characters they are! We spent most of the day outside as it was so nice out who wanted to be cooped indoors? So it was yard work & a lot of fooling around!

A few friends called wishing me a Happy Mothers day but one just wanted to moan and groan about life being so terrible. Who wants to hear about them having to find out all about the Fair Debt Collection laws in Cali at 11PM Indiana time? He did enlighten me about the laws on what debt collectors can and can not do. There are set hours that they must abide by. No calls before 8AM and no calls after 9PM. Which is good really giving those people in debt collections a little relief from calls. Collectors may not harass in any way either. Such as threaten, coerce or pretend to be anyone other than who they are. Which we have all heard horror stories of companies doing that. There are firms that are out there that if you are having problems that can help you. They will in fact protect your rights and make sure that the debt collectors do not break the laws that are set in place as protection.

He cleared up quiet a lot of things that I thought was legal. He was pretty lucky to hire a company to protect his rights from one of the company that was calling and calling. Now they only call once a day. Thank goodness there are laws to protect us the consumer. Being in debt should not be a scary thing to go through and if you are in doubt of your rights check into them!

Starting tomorrow it is the official Prom countdown. From waiting till the flowers are delivered to the picking up of the tux and then some. Nearly all week will have something or the other to do with the prom.

Colt has all his personal lists ready. Things that made the list were hair cut, shaving, facial and how to get rid of dark circles because he loves to stay up late playing PS3 and Megan will kill him if he looks like death on that night! He even took the day off from work so he can relax and look really good.

This is going to be a crazy, crazy week!
