Game of the Palm: Olympic Style

In the past the Olympics had a few sports events that are now discontinued. After reading this one I can see why this was taken out.

Called the Jeu de Paume, which translates, Game of the Palm, was in fact only played one time in the sporting events of the Olympics. This was in 1908.

What is this game? Actually it is rather like squash but you use your hands instead of a racket to hit the ball.

This was at the exhibition in Queen's Club, West Kensington, London. I am sure that these participants had life insurance no exam with them!

Jeu de Paume also means for those that are interested, Real Tennis or Court Tennis. It is now known as Tennis or Lawn tennis which came from the original game.
